Jose Mourinho appears to be inching ever closer to United, according to reports.
The Portuguese tactician who was sacked by Chelsea in December, is fancied to replace Louis van Gaal.
And according to Italian journalist Alessandro Alciato, Mourinho appears to be United bound.
He tweeted: “A deal between United and Mourinho is very close.”
Michael Carrick has been offered a new 12-month contract, according to reports.
Despite signing Bastian Schweinsteiger and Morgan Schneiderlin, Carrick is still an integral member of the first team.
