Rapper DMX has reportedly been hospitalised after suffering a suspected asthma attack.
DMX whose real name Earl Simmons - was found "not breathing" and "without a pulse" at a New York hotel on Monday (February 8).
A source told TMZ that Simmons started complaining of a pain in his chest outside his room at the Ramada Inn, with fears of a possible drug overdose at first thought to be the cause of his collapse.
Police responded to a call concerning an "unconscious male" just after 6pm, and are thought to have given the rapper CPR at the scene.
Simmons is then said to have received treatment at a nearby hospital, with the star later telling TMZ that all "he remembers is having shortness of breath after suffering bronchitis for a couple of days".
A family member also added that "he asked for his inhaler (for asthma) right before he fell unconscious. They were not able to get it to him in time. He's still in the hospital."
