Young soldier dies in 'hit-and-run' crash a week after taking part in Trooping the Colour for Queen's birthday

A young soldier has died in a suspected hit-and-run crash a week after he took part in Trooping the Colour.
Ben Regan, who served with the Coldstream Guards, died after being hit by a car in Reigate, Surrey, in the early hours of yesterday morning.
Close friends paid tribute to the 20-year-old serviceman - who proudly posted pictures online of himself at last week's military parade outside Buckingham Palace - calling him an 'exceptional young man'.

Mr Regan was hit by a grey or light-coloured car at around 2am yesterday morning, Surrey Police said. He died at the scene 45 minutes later.
A man in his 20s was arrested in connection with the fatal collision and was released on bail until August.
The soldier played for Dorking Rugby Club's under-21s team, where friends spoke of the pride Mr Regan took in serving his country.
Paul Mosley, the club's vice president, said: 'It is desperately sad. He was a very nice, lively, quirky, loveable man.
'I've known him since he was a little lad, he was always very loveable and he turned into an exceptional young man.
'He was in the Coldstream Guards and in the Trooping of the Colour last week. It was a proud occasion for his whole family.
