Governor of Borno State, Kashim Shettima, on Saturday announced the appointment of Alhaji Usman Shuwa Jidda as Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Barrister Yakubu Bukar and Alhaji Modu Musa retain their positions as Head of Service (HOS) and Chief of Staff (CoS) respectively.
In a statement signed by the Permanent Secretary Administration and General Services, Governor’s Office, Dr. Maryam Bukar Ibrahim, the governor also approved the re-appointment of Alhaji Isa Umar Gusau as his Special Adviser on Communications and Strategy, Alhaji Usman Kumo, as Senior Special Assistant (SSA) on Media (Radio), while Miss Kwapchi Bata Dibal also retains her position as SSA on Media (Television).
Also appointed as SSAs are Yusuf Usman Shettima and Abba Bashir Talbari (Social Media), Baba Zannah Abdulkarim, (Special Projects), Mustapha Mohammed Kukawa and Christopher Godwin Akaba (Special Duties).
The new SSG, Jidda Shuwa, aged 57, studied Law at the prestigious Ahmad Bello University Zaria (ABU). He had been at various times Registrar of Borno College of Legal and Islamic Studies (BOCOLIS).
He was also a lecturer at the University of Maiduguri and Director of Administration at Borno State Agricultural Development Programme (BOSADP). Recently, he became the Executive Chairman of Borno State Teaching Service Board.
The governor while congratulating all the appointees for their well deserved appointment, urged them to contribute immensely in the discharge of their duties towards development of the state.
