1. The controversy surrounding the appointment of Prince Kole Aladetoyinbo as the new Deji of Akure land has been laid to rest as the Ondo State Executive Council has confirmed his appointment. The approval and confirmation was contained in a statement issued by the state’s Commissioner for Information, Hon Kayode Akinmade.

3. With the growing incidents of poisonous local gin killing many people in recent time, the Federal Government on Monday announced that it would immediately commence a nationwide confiscation and destruction of unregistered locally produced gin (Ogogoro), bitters and others. The decision was taken at a joint news conference organised by the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) and the Nigerian Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) in Abuja.
4. President muhammadu Buhari has reiterated during his discussion with his French counterpart, President Francois Hollande in Germany that there was clearly no link between religion and the atrocities of Boko Haram, vowing to tackle the insurgents headlong, also requesting for the supports of other big nations.
5. Report says the battle for the Senate Presidency may have become tougher as the PDP has now thrown its weight behind Sen. Bukola Saraki, urging all its Senators to vote for the former Kwara Governor for the Senate Presidency’s position and Yakubu Dogara for the position of the Speaker of the House of Representatives.
6. An ex-parte motion seeking to disqualify Hon Femi Gbajabiamila from becoming the Speaker of the House of Representative was heard on Monday at a Federal High Court in ABUJA. The court has however asked the aspiring Speaker to appear before it to defend himself.
7. Bayelsa State Governor, Seriake Dickson, has reacted to Chief Timipre Sylva’s quest to return to the Government House, asking him to stop dreaming of ruling the state again as his era was allegedly the darkest days in the history of the state.
8. PDP chieftain, Buruji Kashamu has continued to excel in his legal battle against the NDLEA, as another judge, Justice Ibrahim Buba in another proceedings stopped the NDLEA from arresting and arraigning Kashamu in furtherance of the extradition charges.
9. The ongoing case between a former governor of Bayelsa State, Timipre Sylva, and the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, over financial crime at the Federal High Court, Abuja, has been adjourned till June 10, 2015.
10. Senate President hopeful, Senator Olusola Saraki has denied reports by a section of the media that he boycotted APC leadership meeting to be chaired by VP Osinbajo on Monday. He also denied that he referred to the VP as common Commissioner. Saraki in a statement said he was never invited for any meeting, and had no reason whatsoever to disrespect the person of Osinbajo as apart from being the country’s VP, his credentials were equally excellent.
