An Egyptian court sentenced policeman over activist death

An Egyptian court has jailed a policeman for 15years over the death of an unarmed female activist in January. Shaimaa al-Sabbagh, the 32-year-old activist, died after being hit by shotgun pellets.

Her final moments were caught on video and went viral online, causing outrage within Egypt. Sabbagh was shot as police dispersed a small march on the fourth anniversary of the uprising that toppled Hosni Mubarak as president.
