A 22-year-old student of Delta State University, DELSU, was over the weekend raped by a mentally derailed man popularly called Theophilus at an ATM unit in Abraka-Delta state while she was trying to withdraw some cash.
It was gathered that the victim identified as Ejiro while waiting to use the ATM machine was attacked and dragged into a nearby bush by the mad man where he allegedly raped her. Report says her effort to getting the attention of those waiting to use the same machine yielded no result.
The bank customers were said to be thinking that she was playing, but her persistent call got the attention of passersby who went to her rescue.
The mad man was said to have held on to his victim despite been beaten by the angry mob who heard the cry of the victim for help.
According to a police source, the victim was rushed to a hospital where she was treated for bruises.

The police source further appealed to female students to be wary of what they wear.
