Nadal’s most recent title came on clay when he won the Argentina Open in March, beating Monaco for his 65th career crown.
The Mallorca native, who won eight consecutive finals in Monaco between 2005-2012 and holds a 50-3 event record, will bid to win his ninth Monte-Carlo Rolex Masters title when the tournament begins 12 April.
