Ondo polls: Mimiko, Deputy wins PUs for different parties

Ondo State Governor Olusegun Mimiko and his deputy, Alhaji Ali Olanusi, on Saturday won their respective polling units for their different parties during Saturday’s House of Assembly election.

In Olanusi’s Egure unit in Supare, Akoko North West, the All Progressives Congress polled 217 votes, while the Peoples Democratic Party got only five votes.

There were however hitches with the card reader deployed in the unit, causing delays in the accreditation process.
The situation was however rectified before accreditation began at about 10 am.

Mimiko on his part recorded 223 votes for the PDP at his Mona Clinic Unit 32 Ward 7, Ondo West Local Government Area, as against the APC with 40 votes.
He did better than in the presidential election where he scored 117 votes in the unit, against APC’s 68.
Mimiko expressed satisfaction with the turnout of voters, but noted that there were card reader hitches in some parts of the state.
