In a statement signed by the director general of the institute, Professor Oshita Oshita, the institute applauds all political parties and stakeholders in respecting the Abuja accord signed by candidates and their political parties on January 14.
According to the director general, although the elections were not entirely without hitches, it is indeed heart warming that despite the hiccups, the voting public demonstrated commitment to the principles of peaceful elections, thus contributing to the deepening of democracy in Nigeria.
