Oyo INEC takes delivery of sensitive materials


The Independent National Electoral Commission in Oyo State has said that it has taken delivery of the sensitive materials for March 28 Presidential and National Assembly elections.

 The Resident Electoral Commissioner, Mr Rufus Akeju, who made this known on Wednesday, said that the materials comprised of ballot papers and score sheets for presidential and legislative polls.
 Akeju said that he took delivery of the materials from the team of CBN official led by its Branch Controller in Ibadan, Mr Musibau Olatinwo.
 “I hereby announce that I have received the ballot papers and score sheets meant for both the presidential and legislative elections slated for March 28, 2015.
“It is an indication that the 2015 general elections will hold and all the stakeholders are here to witness the delivery,’’ he said.
Earlier, Olatinwo had told journalists that he had come to deliver the elections materials to INEC office in Ibadan.
“On behalf of CBN, it is my pleasure to handover the election materials for the presidential and legislative elections to INEC,’’ Olatinwo said.
Olatinwo said that the materials for the Governorship and House of Assembly elections, scheduled for April 11, 2015 were still in the custody of the apex bank.
Meanwhile, Akeju has said the distribution of Permanent Voter Cards to electorate will continue.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the materials, which arrived at INEC office at about 2.25 a.m., were conveyed in three trucks.
Among the political parties represented at the event were PDP, APC, Accord, SDP, Labour Party and UNDP (NAN)
